Page 31

Plottie's interview with Dr. Daphne Miller, which was supposed to be on the front page of the July/August Noe Valley Voice, came out on Page 31. We know black is the new white and 70 is the new 40, but Page 31 is not the new Front Page.

Writers who are used to Front Page do not like Page 31. Page 31 is for rumors and remembrances about Denmark and recipes that include hemp. Page 31 is buried so far into the publication that it doesn't even get pulled out for birdcage wrapping. No parrot ever pooped on Page 31.

So who is on Page One instead of Dr. Daphne? Harry Aleo, who owned 'Lost in the Fog' and died. He was a neighborhood icon and he's dead, so he deserves it. The others: the painful search for Tamara Cocchiarella's father. Roots of 24th Street Tree Troubles. Senior Center Lunch Line Grows Longer. And Noe Nuptials a Part of 'Summer of Love' at City Hall.

At least your blog is always the front page. (No, I'm not sure what that means either.)

Here's an interesting thing - I Googled Dr. Daphne Miller and your last name and came up with an article in a 2001 Noe Valley Voice issue. The weird bit is that there is an article about her, but not by you. You wrote about some guy named Levy and his business. So your front page interview isn't even making Google correctly. Yet.

We will pick up the paper soon. I assume you get paid as MUCH (little writer joke there) for page 31 as you would on the front page? Just concentrate on that...I never cared much for Mr. Aleo, for obvious reasons, but I will miss his nasty right wing front window and Bill saying, "I want to read everything!" Me saying, "I'll meet you 2 blocks down". In fact Mr. Husband just said, "Harry was alright". He likes to goad...

Nice detective work, Notthat. Ross Levy is her architect husband who I also interviewed. Was it all the way back to 2001?

Well this goes to show how much I know...that is, I didn't even know that you still wrote for the Voice. Only knew that you hosted their parties. Oddly enough, I thought of Aleo the other day and wondered if he was still alive. That's all. Just wondered. A passing thought....what we will all be, someday....oy vey I need breakfast.
