A Place at the Table

The Rockheadz are here! They arrived last night, on schedule, and are set for a week of meetings about rocks, at Moscone Center. It's all a little too Cenozoic for Plotnik, who is by nature far more Holocene/Metamorphic than Pleistocene/Igneous, na'mean?

Last night was the Noe Valley Voice Christmas Party. There was a beautiful full moon outside Sal's window.

The sad news, however, is that Governor Schwartzenegger is going to have an important seat to sell to the highest bidder. Eliot and Lisa have announced that they are moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, which means that Baby Jacob, who has spent his first two Passovers at the Plotnik table, will no longer be the only 3/8 Plotnikkie in attendance.

We're going to really miss Eliot and family, but this was inevitable. Last year they left Saint Plotniko for the South Bay, and once you do that, North Carolina and its rock bottom housing prices always follows.

So several seats are now available for the Great Moses Countdown in the spring. Less than a million dollars should be ample. Considerably less.

So here's the thing - I was just sure you were making up some of those complicated sounding terms in that first paragraph, or at least were using them incorrectly. So I spent a few minutes with my friend Google and have found that, well, this stuff is complicated.

And that you apparently either cribbed a Rockheadz notes or maybe actually know your stuff. I'm betting on the cribbed notes.

While there's a bit of a culture change when moving from SF to the south bay, it's nothing like what happens when going to North Carolina. This should be an interesting challenge ( although living in a 3000 square foot house on 20 acres for $150K, or whatever deal they got, may help a bit).

Oh, we will miss Elliot and family on Passover ~ is he still with the same company or is this a new job? North Carolina is beautiful, but a tad dull compared to SF. I guess you knew that already...
