Al Otro Lado
It's Sunday morning, and Plot and Duck were up early -- why? Because they went to bed ridiculously early. Why? Because you never know when the phone call could come and if it's in the middle of the night they want to be rested and ready to fly out the door.
Instead, 6:30AM rolls around and here they are, reading the paper, thinking about coffee, and, on Sunday, Plot still has two hours to go before he can hop on his bike and get down to the b-ball court.
The Latino Film Festival is in town -- yesterday at the Castro they saw Al Otro Lado, a really touching film which was actually three stories, each about a child left behind when Dad leaves to find work in another country. One story was about Mexico, one about Cuba and one about Morocco. At one moment, it looked like the Moroccan 10-year-old girl named Fatima was going to get herself into a really, really bad situation where Plot and Duck would have to walk out of the theater, but no. She made it OK. Whooosh, that was close.
Five Point Nine Head is bumping into things, but she feels great. They went to hear Wynton Marsalis last week and the baby was dancing. This means possibly a trumpeter. A trumpeter would be great. We've got a piano player, a guitar player, a banjo player and a drummer already.

When the time DOES come, will you make a quick post here before flying out the door, or will we have to wait patiently, tapping our toes, until after the Big Event takes place? Or can we all expect personal emails telling us the happy news?
I am so nervous that I went to bed early last night too...
