Water to Wine and Wine Back to Water
The Great PD had a clip on this morning's California Report. It aired on KQED, but since Plotnik rearely listens to the radio except in the car, he couldn't figure out how to access KQED. So he tried clicking on KQED.ORG and California Report and NPR and wasn't getting anywhere and time was a-wasting, when...Ducknik turned on the radio. There was Reporter P.D. Plotnik, talking about extracting drinking water from human and industrial waste.
Turning on the RADIO! What a novel idea. What will they think up next?
As always, the best part of the show was when the announcer said "Today's report was by P.D. Plotnik from KPLT in Los Angeles."
What a concept this is, except it's reality now. There is a huge plant in Orange County that gathers waste water from all over the basin and, using an infinitely complex series of filters, deposits the water back into the aquifer (into the earth) where it sits for six months and comes out clean and potable. You can't recycle any better than that.
Plus, it's Christmas. Everyone knows about turning water into wine. Now the wine is going back to water. It's really very cool.

Didn't you have a septic system and leach field on your farm? This water treatment system doesn't sound new at all. Well, maybe it's new to southern California people.
The water to wine story? That's a part of the Christmas story? Wow I didn't realize. So, What were Mary and Joseph surving in that barn? A burgandy? AH, yes, that's why decorations are red....right?
