The Fifth of Fee and Saint David's Day

It's Sophia Martin's 5th Birthday today, so her parents (Mr. and Mrs. The Great Zinfandini) threw a party for her at the old bowling alley in the Presidio. It has been awhile since Plot and Duck have gone to a little kids' party with pizza and cake and video games and bowling, so they expected chaos, but there wasn't any. All the kids were so well behaved that all the parents were a bit confused. Mrs. The Great Zinfandini's brother Emmit brought along his five children, and four of them are teenagers!, and STILL everyone got along.

Zinfandini's Uncle Costco made the cake and Fee blew out the candles one by one.

Bowling was as much fun as it ever is, since it's impossible at a kids' party to find a ball that fits your big, fat fingers. Having bumpers up to block the gutters led to some very amusing moments, as tiny kids dropped the ball six inches up the lane and watched it roll from one gutter BUMP to the other gutter BUMP back to the other gutter BUMP and sometimes manage to end up striking the bowling pins right exactly in the center, occasionally with enough force to actually knock a few down.

Furthermore:

Today is Saint David's Day and Plotnik guesses quite a few of you didn't know that. Ducknik knows that, and JJ-aka-PP knows that, and Ducknik's Aunt Alice knows that too and Duck is talking to her on the phone right now. Saint David's Day is the Welsh National Holiday, and the daffodil is the Welsh National Flower. Plotnik shall now say something in Welsh: Cadygigg.

Bowling bumpers are a fantastic invention.

It looks like Uncle Costco makes very festive cakes.

And it's a good thing Fee is only five - blowing candles out one at a time could take a while at my age.
