Привет from Брит (Hi from Britt)

Here's a piece of Britt (Kazakh Desert Princess)'s latest note, having received her Christmas package with the video of Wall-E (Plotzer caps still to be sent).

Привет (hi!)

"I just wanted to let you know that I got your present today! It was the box you were worried about getting to me, but it miraculously appeared against all odds. I'm sorry to say that I cheated and opened it immediately. It made my day:) Tomorrow is Kazakhstan Independence Day, so I think that we are going to maybe drink a "responsible" amount of Vodka tonight, eat a doner kabob and watch some Wall-E!..."

Брит

So, The Great Plotnik is thinking this morning about this fabulous global world we're lucky enough to inhabit. His fabulous niece sits in her host family's house 12,000 long miles away, in a culture that sounds both Western and Eastern, and they drink vodka, eat kebab and watch Wall-E. I mean, how much better does it get?

(The better part is probably the part she's not writing us, but, knowing KDP, she'll find the fun and figure out how to become part of it.)

What a beautiful, if rainy day. It hailed so hard last night that it set off the alarm on the Saab. Luckily, BZ's room is right above the street, where the car is parked, so she heard it and could turn the alarm off with the key without having to go outside.

Doner Kebab, vodka and Wall-E. Plotnik can't get that out of his head.

Wow, what timing - we just watched it last night. I love the movie and how they animate Wall-e. (We had also seen it in the theater.) Watch the Burn-e short on the DVD. Those Pixar people are just too clever.

Do they have a US DVD player over there in the desert? Evil Hollywood moguls have put in safeguards to prevent you being able to do what you did (send a DVD to some other country). If she is playing it in her laptop or something like that it should be fine. There are also a lot of gray-market DVD players that thumb their noses at the Evil Hollywood moguls.
