From Tacos to Treme

It was a perfect Cinco de Mayo Saturday, though Plot and Duck were not thinking about the holiday when they stopped at their favorite San Buena taco truck for tacos de carnitas y pastor con rajas y salsa picante.

Next stop was Sal Beressi, Ducknik's favorite fabric shop down on Bryant St. Plotnik loves going in there too because it's as close to a lower east side shop as you can get in St. P, except the store is five times bigger. This is the season when they have their 50% off sale and Duck bought fabric to make some more pillows.

Last night's Supermoon, the largest of the year (because the moon is closer to the earth than it will be for the rest of the year) was eerie and beautiful from Royal Lookout Point (the rear deck).

Plot doesn't like to admit that having gotten his test results back from his physical, and having discovered that, so far, none of the things he was worrying about most this year seem to have appeared, yet, though he knows they are all lurking in there, somewhere, like little terrorists, awaiting their opportunity to sneak through his Security Line carrying their insidious WPDs, he is feeling quite a bit more chipper than he was recently.

So to cap off a great day he and Duck watched the first two episodes of the second season of Treme. The music is every bit as good as ever and it's good to know that Annie is still there, though he's afraid that hanging out with Davis is setting her up for disaster, especially since the old boy friend is still around; it's also great to see his boy Antoine again and that it looks like Jeanette will never last in New York and that a romance appears to be brewing between the police captain and Toni and that they're gonna have live music in the bar and Plot wouldn't be surprised to see The Chief's saxophone-playing son grab that gig.

Season 2 already seems darker than Season 1. And everybody says they kind of lose interest as the episodes go forward, but not Plottie, not Duck, not yet.
