Rocky's House

Plot and Duck went down to see Rocky Cat yesterday, on the houseboat in the marina at Oyster Point where he lives.

It's got to be a great life for a cat. The marina is quiet these days...each time the Plotniks go to visit with Mike and Kuniko there are fewer full-timers living on the boats, even though the cost of renting a boat slip is amazingly inexpensive. Of course, you've got to have a boat you want to live on, and it helps that Mike built not only his houseboat but his workshop boat which is moored in the next slip over. The first boat you see in the picture above is not Mike's, but the next two are.

It's always a beautiful day at Oyster Point, which is in South SF, down below Candlestick, I mean Monster Park, and beyond the fog belt. So it's often windy, and also frequently chilly, but it's also a lot sunnier. Mike and Kuniko could grow tomatoes, but currently they have only a small garden: one flowering cactus in a box.

Mush and Silent Bill have met Mike -- he is as sick a Braindead Caribbeans fan as they are. But the free Giants tickets days may be slowing down -- when LTC (Large Telephone Company) took over the ball park, they took down all of Mike's giant framed aerial photos which dominated the walkways heading for your seat, and put up ads in their place. Baseball a business? Who said?

A cat on a boat, surrounded by water, sounds a bit off. Maybe Rocky can fly like that famous squirrel? (But then he'd need a moose to throw him I guess. And I don't see a moose making it on a boat.)

The day is coming when there will be ads on the outfiled grass and the bases will have viagra and beer logos.
