Home and Still One Game Out

The car to the bus to the plane to the train to the bus to the house took around five hours today, including an hour sitting around the airport. If Plot and Duck had left Mummy P's at the same time and headed North in Fritzbaum (the Plotniks' trusty Volkswagon), it would have taken an hour longer and not really have saved any money. Flying sure is easier on the eyes, even with all the surface transportation, but only when all the connections work. One awful plane delay can ruin everything. But so can a flat tire on I-5.

Shmalifornia is burning. You don't see it in Stiletto City and you don't see it in Saint Plontiko but there is a brown haze covering the state from there to here and from the ocean to the Sierras. It's very discouraging to look out the airplane window and see nothing but brown. Maybe this is natural? They say it is.

Plot hasn't given up on the season yet. The Plotzers dropped 3 of 4 to the Discount Fish and are still only one game back.

There are a lot of mediocre teams that would LOVE to be in the NL West right now. But that could change. The Diamondbacks could sign Barry and the Dodgers will be getting a healthy Jason Schmidt.

The fires will still burn though.

I was in Encino this morning working a kid's day camp (teaching about earthquakes). I feel like I could have swung by Aunt Rose's and taken you to the airport on my way home :)

Hopefully next time you hop in to town I'll be able to see you and Aunt Barb!
