Corey, You The Man!
Cousin Seattle called before last night's Plotzer game to say that her boyfriend Corey, who obviously really knows how to treat a woman, had scored Plotzers/Cubs tickets for last night. Obviously the two of them were good luck charms for the Good Guys, as the Plotzers took their third game in a row and knocked the Cubs back to Chicago for the year.
Corey, you the MAN! Cuz Seattle, hold ON to this genius.
At the same time, Cousin John in Illinois wrote Plot to announce that he was about to throw himself off the bridge, that there was no point in living anymore. It's been 20 years since the Plotzers won anything, so Plotnik knows just how John feels. But he doesn't feel sorry for the Cubs. It's good to be on the winning side for once.
You may wonder what the above has to do with the taco truck from El Tonayense. Well, that was just to fool those of you who would normally turn elsewhere as soon as you see what SHOULD have been on top, you know, ugh, sports:
But it's not entirely a fabrication. Yesterday Plottie discovered the taco truck parked under a tree at 19th and Harrison. He ordered two tacos, one of carne al pastor and one of carnitas. They were as good as tacos can get -- tasted just like they do in Mexico. Oh, man.
This feels good. For one day. Tomorrow, Plottie starts worrying about the Phillies. Not today.

Your photo strategy worked with this reader... I used to eat at that particular taco truck (or at least whatever truck was parked at that location at the time. Is there turnover?)
Beating up on the Cubs means little if you don't beat the Phillies. It's not easy, but my west coast bias forces me to pull for the Dodgers - you better not blow it.
Cousin John can always just root for the White Sox - I'm sure you would root for the Angels if the situations were reversed. (Yes, I know that's a load of crap.)
Taco trucks just plain rule.
OK, we'll try that taco truck next time ~ it looks great! Congrats on another blue win, DD. Do we have a photo of the g.dot in her new home?
THE GAME WAS AMAZING!!!!
First off, the crowd was electric, and I'm amazed that neither Corey nor I lost our voices! After the game was over and the team went in to the clubhouse for champagne celebration #2/4, everyone stayed around and screamed for about 10 minutes. Then some of the players came back out for a curtain call, with champagne and/or beer in hand, and started partying it up with the fans. Russell Martin ran out to the outfield and hopped up on the wall to the bleachers and sprayed the fans out there. Eventually, a microphone got passed around that had access to the whole stadium's sound system, and the crowd was addressed by Torre, Lasorda, Manny (3 times), Loney, aaaaaaaand a few other players that I can't remember... The third time Manny came out, he had grabbed a giant janitorial broom and started waving it around, saying "WE'RE PARTYING AT MY HOUSE TONIGHT AND YOU'RE ALL INVITED... IF YOU CAN FIND IT!!!" :)
The game was over about 10:10, and we hung around until about 11. On the way out, horns were a-honking for the 15 minutes it took to get out of the parking lot, and for the 10 more it took to get down to the freeway!
All-in-all, greatest playoff game I've ever been too! (Both of the playoff games I've been to have included the home team sweeping a Chicago team in the first home game of the series for them. Not a bad track record, eh?)
Hope that was a good update for you! :)
