Curse You Chi Town! Let Plotzomania Begin!

The baseball playoffs start today and here they are, the eight managers whose teams have made it this far. What amazes Plotnik is that even he, baseball fan that he is, can't recognize at least half of them. There's Joe Torre of course, and that's Ozzie Guillen of the White Sox at the end, and that must be Terry Francona of the Red Sox and there's Lou Piniella of the Cubs. Who are those other four guys? Tampa Bay? Milwaukee? Oh, Mike Scioscia of the Angels, he's an ex-Plotzer, that's easy. And there's some guy who looks a little like Randy Winn, but isn't.

They say managers don't matter, but some of them do. This guy seems to be in that category. Ya gotta love that smile.

The Plotzers play the Cubs. The Cubs are favored. There is mojo going for the Cubs too: It's been exactly 100 years since the Cubs won their last World Series.

Now, Plotnik loves Chicago, and he loves Wrigley Field, where the Cubs play. He was born in Chicago. His family rooted for both the Cubs and White Sox. Also, it's a fabulous food town.

So Curse You, Chi Town!

After a very long season of 162 games, which began with even more games in the Spring, when it was sunny, and ended in the frigid fall with lots of rainouts, now the real season begins. Baseball is supposed to be a hot weather sport, but the final playoff round and the World Series will be played in cold, unseasonable weather in ball parks that aren't built for it. The hero for the winning team will be somebody no one has ever heard of. The Plotzers have a chance. Not a very good chance, but a chance.

Oh, Say Do Those Plotzer Dogs and
Garlic Fries Still Wave?
O'er the Land of the Free(way)
And the Home of the Bra(twurst)!

First, you beat me by a wide margin in your "Name the Manager" contest. I like that there are some freshish faces in there though.

Second, you were born in Chicago??? There must be a special place in hell reserved for people like you betray your hometown like that. And for some glamour team that has been to WAY too many World Series in the last decade, let alone 100 years.

Third, this is hard to type, but here goes: go dodgers (hopefully using lowercase will keep me out of your special place in hell).

NotThat, you have narrowly removed yourself from Dodger Hell. Ms. Mush, well now.

You've gotta change your attitude... The final round and World Series will be played in a place that is unseasonably WARM!!!
