Dance Nik and Off to Providence

Finally, The Great Dance-Nik showed her face. Plot and Duck took the 2 Train into Manhattan and got off at Fulton Street, near the World Trade Center. Dance-Nik met them in front of her building and the three walked down to the South Street Seaport to have a delicious lunch of eggplant parmesan and shrimp sald sandwiches. Several hours passed with lots of laughs. Too bad Dance-Nik had to go off and become a Big Shmappapolian.

There was an excellent woman conga drummer playing in the Union Street Subway station. Try as he might, Plotnik can never remember a woman conga drummer in the subway before.

Then 5H and BB came into the city and the four Plotniks went to see The Great PunkyDunky's new office off Union Square. You never met friendlier people and the best thing is they are doing fascinating things while assembling a team for the future. This is the way you're supposed to do things.

It's also very near Plot and Duck's old Shmapple neighborhood, so dinner was at Veselka's Ukrainian -- blintzes, stuffed cabbage, grilled kielbasa and veal goulash. Oh, man.

This is the last morning in the Big Bagel for Duck and Plot, who catch a 12:30 train to Providence. Wait till you hear the story about how Barack Obama has made Manhattan forget about the World Trade Center.

2nd Ave Deli may now be on 33rd, but at least we still have Veselka's. Great to see you two, and yes, I miss TGP brand of humor.
