Results of Halloween Evening Lunchtime Poll #3

Last night, the Great Plotnik conducted the first Halloween Evening Lunchtime Poll. The question asked was: "Who are you?" The only qualification was each respondent had to have said "Trick or Treat!" first.

Polling was conducted on the front stairs of The Great Plotnik World Headquarters and Pumpkin Center. Pollsters were The Great Plotnik, wearing a fish hat, The Great Ducknik, with a mask and wig, and Brother James Street, disguised as King Tutenkhamen. The Great Plotnik was assisted at times by the late Elvis Presley.

The polling proceded as follows:

Respondent: "Twick o Tweat!"
TGP: "And who are you supposed to be, little boy (girl)?"
Respondent: "I'm Sawah Pay-win!"
TGP: "Got it! One for Sarah Palin."

Here are the results of the first Halloween Evening Lunchtime Poll:

Sarah Palin: 2 (*)
Richard Nixon: 1
Arnold Schwartzenegger: 1
Elvis Presley: 1
Barack Obama: 1 (*)
John McCain: 0
Ralph Nader: 0
Skeletons: 27
Fairy Princesses: 9
Frank Gore: 1
Buzz Lightyear: 2
Unrecognized Ghouls or Cartoon Characters: 100 +

(Explanation for asterisks:
1) One teenage girl actually was dressed as Sarah Palin, and when asked "who are you?" answered "I'm Sarah Palin, you betcha!" But the other Sarah Palin was a mother leading her 2 year old son down the street. Mom was dressed exactly the way Sarah Palin dresses, with the hair up, the jacket, the skirt, the red top. TGP saw her and said: "Ha ha! Sarah Palin!" and the woman scowled angrily at him. It turned out this was the woman's actual outfit, not a costume. Plotnik had forgotten there are people who really do dress like that, but he felt pretty stupid anyway. We are counting the vote.

2) The one Barack Obama was actually his face carved into a pumpkin. We are counting that too.)

So, the political voting-by-costume results are: Palin 2, Nixon 1, Schwartzenegger 1 and Obama 1. This ties Sarah Palin with Fiorello LaGuardia, Emiliano Zapata and Barack Obama with 2 votes each, as the last weekend begins before Tuesday's election. The results of today's poll will be posted tomorrow.

After the polling was completed, Poll workers Plotnik, Ducknik and Tutenkhamen repaired to the Great Meatball Kitchen for the annual Great Halloween Pasta Dinner. Wish you were here.

Ha ha - when your normal style is confused with a costume you've got it made! (Or are in trouble. Or are Elvis.)

I forgot about the fish hat - that thing is great.

And there is no way some kid was wandering around as Richard Nixon - you had to have made that up.
