Happy Birthday to the New GB70

The Great Bear, the artist formerly known as Schmeckl Plotnik, blew out the candles on his ice cream cake last night at Monty's, and did it with a flourish -- one candle at a time, and one wish per candle. The huge steaks and prime rib and baked potatoes were every bit as huge as we all remembered and we kept Mummy Plotnik up until midnight. Lewis and David supplied us with many bottles of wine and even splitting his end cut of prime rib with Mummy P., Plotnik couldn't believe how much food he ate.

Schmeckl earned his new name of GB70 with his eating exploits yesterday. GB70 put away a huge New York Cut steak at dinner, burnt to smithereens in the restaurant's Deflavorizing Cyclotron before he'd touch it, but this is only amazing when you consider what a certain Birthday Boy had taken care of only a few short hours before.

The Little Bear put it all together last night and was looking especially beautiful.

Earlier in the day GB70, his two boys Nefnik and The Great Staubach, along with The Great Plotnik, drove around Stiletto City on a Nostalgia Tour.

Man stops were made, including this one at what used to be known as Gower Street Cemetery but is now some idiotic name like Forever Young -- yeah, right. After searching for awhile, Plot found his dad's gravestone, and the four boys stared at it awhile, considering how insane this whole journey is. Sherman is buried with his father and mother, in a plot of land that is now considered a hip place to have concerts and show old movies. It is all 'way too weird.

It's a lot of fun for Plottie to get to spend time with his 'bro and nephews. And there are ribs and football still to come later today.

Candles on an ice cream cake? Only in LA. (Actually, probably not, but I take my shots when I see them. Granted, most end up as air balls.) Enjoy the ribs today.
