Six Bites with a Bangle of Praise

The Saint Plotniko Squirrel Blog Awards Division has awarded the 2010 production of Great Plotnik pippin apples Six Bites with a Bangle of Praise.

This can be the only explanation why they keep leaving the apples smack dab in the middle of the lower deck. We are pleased with the Six Bite rating and wonder why they just don't turn the thing over and start in on the other side.

There is one apple left on that tree, the one neither Plottie nor the squirrels can reach. Like the last blackberry in the bramble bush, it will be the best of them all. Plot picked the rest of the apples yesterday, figuring the rain would knock them off and bruise them, even though he knows the longer they stay on the tree, the better they taste.

No one here knows why the apples actually tasted delicious this year, were free of bugs, larger and juicier than any year in the past. It might have something to do with the compost Plotnik put down on the garden next to the tree in the middle of the growing season, or it might not. We hope the trend continues, because we're going for an Eight Bite rating for the 2011 season.

Ah, so it will be your fault when the storm fails to show up later today.

That's great, but weird, that you got good apples this year. Probably the neighborhood cats.
