Jacob Louis and Texts in the Royal Bedchamber

Congratulations to Jacob Louis Poger, who entered this world at some point last week, though, due to email glitches, The Great Plotnik is not sure exactly when. Mom Lisa and Dad Elliot appear to be doing well in the photo, don't they? Silent Bill will remember Elliot and Lisa from April 3's entry "Brisket, Funny Wine and an Ancient Story." Let Plottie repeat himself: Bill is NOT wearing Mickey Mouse ears, folded back.

Meanwhile, The Great Plotnik awoke at 3AM to a small white light in the Royal Bedchamber, accompanied by an incessant chk chk chk chk. It was The Great Ducknik sending a text message to BZWZ, who had just sent one herself, to say she will be on her way tomorrow to Mara Masai. A Kenyan friend got BZ the locals rate on a safari tour -- she has to take a small plane and fly into the lodge's private airstrip, but this is common, apparently, and even though this text arrived at the exact and official hour of Plotnik's Worry Time, he was fortunate to be able to engage the GPS 7500 What-Me-Worry? Filter, so no worries, mate.

Also, a phone call from The Great PunkyDunky yesterday reports that Baby I is now crawling at high velocity, forwards AND backwards, and that her entire room has had to be baby-proofed in a hurry. We all remember how that works. Once they move in both directions, little-cute-tiny-babyhood is history. Adios and get ready to rumble.

This photo now resides permanently in Plottie's wallet, so anyone who steals it will at least get one big smile, before realizing there's no &#^%! cash in there.

Congrats to Lisa and Elliot! I love that photo with the fetching hat on Smiling Bill.
