Patsy's Bridal Shop

It is as calm as a bridal shop here in Patsy's kitchen, two nights before Nellie's wedding. You will recall that only a few months ago, when Nel's sister Hannah got married, it was, shall we say...chaotic in this DC neighborhood. But tonight there are no f-Bombs, only a small amount of last minute sewing and there is even food in the refrigerator. Hannah and hubby Ben come over and everyone sits around the dining room table where Patsy is stitching up Nellie's veil as Plot and Duck arrive off the green line from National Airport.

Plot is feeling fine, because during their 2 hour layover at Chicago's Midway Airport, he went up to a guy burying his sorrows in a tall beer at an airport sports bar, and said "So how 'bout dem Cubs? How'd dey do t'day?" When the guy spurted out "Ehhh, it's Chicahhhhgo. Cubs lost. Chisox lost," Plot exulted, because this meant the Plotzers had beaten the Cubs, and that's good news. Look at the upper right hand corner of this blog, and then realize that Andre Ethier, James Loney and Matt Kemp all hit home runs on the same day.

But back to the Bridal Shop. Today Plot and Duck are having lunch with DC Niecie before driving north to Baltimore, so there will be a small amount of time to cruise through DC. This is such a fabulous city and there is never enough time to see what needs to be seen.

But it's weird. Plotnik keeps waiting for the phone to ring and someone to answer: "What? No f***ing flowers?" Not this time, boys and girls. The veil is already sewn up.

So who did you tick off that has made you get involved in so many weddings this year? (It seems like a dozen or so and it's only September.)

You faithful blog readers are glad to hear that this one seems much more civilized (so far).
