Two Wonderful Birthdays!

What great news from Stiletto City! Adelaide Pearl Sealey Pavey was born this morning, weighing a monstrous 8 pounds 7 ounces and standing in at 23" tall. The Great Jade-Nik was 2 1/2 weeks late but managed to deliver naturally. This is such fine news. Many congratulations and kisses to both parents and little Adelaide. Can't wait to see you.

AND: It's Mummy P's Birthday! 95 years young today, Mummy P. would be a great example for little Adelaide to follow. It's quite a happy day.

Here's something to think about. Mummy P. is 95 and Adelaide is less than 1 day old. So when Mummy P. was born, in 1914, an adult 95 years older than Baby Rosie would have been born in 1819. 1819!

(Of course, we don't know for sure that Adelaide wasn't born last night, but for now we're sticking to the story.)

A little history: Mummy P. was born in Chicago, Ill, the daughter of two immigrant families, the Hoffmans from Russia and the Weisers from Rumania. Her parents were married on Christmas Day, 1912, because that was the only day they got off from work. Plotnik remembers his grandparent's fiftieth Anniversary, when GrandMummy P. danced the Kazatchka in her gold lame dress.

Jade-Nik is an actress. Nik-Nik is a musician. This little girl is going to be a pistol. Belly better be getting ready to babysit.

All this and Isaiah Lucas Kass too -- Isaiah hadn't been named yet when we wrote of his arrival on July 29. Isaiah's Mom, Sarah, came to Plot and Duck's wedding in her Mom's belly, and was born five days later. All these circles. And plenty more to come.

This is all great, but that last kid - are his initials really ILK? Is this the one that was to be named after a Stevie Wonder song?
