The Great Plotnik

It's bah' (as in humbug) - la - ma.

Plotnik rediscovered his baglama today. It is such a beautiful instrument, especially among all its modern counterparts.

Seven strings in three groups. Two of those groups have octaves of the same note. It also has half frets -- to produce tonal sounds we don't have in Western music. What a ball to play and it makes you SIM.PLI.FY.

Very pretty - no sound hole? And I wondered how they divided seven strings into three groups (I thought maybe it involved Bush economics), but I see one grouping has three strings. Interesting...still, I don't see Angus Young wailing on one of these anytime soon.
