Fog and Heat

Summer was wonderful this year. It lasted from noon until around 5pm Monday. Now the usual low hanging fog is back. So to generate extra heat Plotnik is going to make two kinds of Louisiana hot sauce from the cayennes he found at the Farmer's Market on Sunday.

He did this when last year's cayennes came in but of course he doesn't remember the recipe he used, so he's going to make a half batch first and then do it up seriously later. These peppers will make regular New Orleans-style and garlic-style hot sauces. The next batch will include smoked chiles for a San Francisco variant.

Those peppers look a bit menacing.
