Sunday in Ballamer

It's Sunday, after Nellie's beautiful wedding last night and wedding brunch this morning. The Plotniks and four others are gathering in the hotel lobby, getting ready to catch the Chinatown bus from Ballamer to the Big Shmapple in an hour or so. For $20 we get to NYC Penn Station, instead of $100 on the train or $200 to rent a car one way. There may be another price to pay, we shall see.

Nel's wedding was wonderful, held in an old castle north of Ballamer, once a cloisters and now a picturesque wedding locale. Pictures to follow, including BZWZ who finally located her Knight in Shining Armor, Kevin, uh, dancing with the bride, and the reemergence of The Great Chicken Wing.

Can't say too much for Ballamer -- it was a booming city once, based on shipping and railroading and industry, but that was a lo o o o n g time ago. Today tourists appear to be the lifeboat here -- the idea is to serve them as much crab as they can handle, plus carrots and broccoli, everything covered in cheese.

Babe Ruth grew up here. And Frederick Douglass. And probably some other people too.

Whoosh ~ no post for a very long while (by Blogtime) and now I am relieved and ready for the next chapter. Is there another wedding in NYC? You and the Ducknik shouldn't go too long w/o seeing a loved one marry...

OMG, didn't you read about my Casino Bus experience?! Not even the very budget conscious Baltimore himself will take the bus to NYC. Can't wait to hear the report.

A $20 bus trip to NYC? Even as cheap as I am, that would make me nervous. Kevin pawing the bride sounds like an interesting tale.

The Colts should still be in Baltimore.
