Two Super Tuesdays

There were two Super Tuesdays yesterday. The first one was, in the long run, not as important, but let's give it UP for Pau Gasol and the New Look Lakers! 24 points and 12 rebounds in his first game. Sweet.

In the other Super Tuesday event, it seems as if Ms. Clinton is America's favorite Democrat right now. No doubt, plenty of Republicans are happy not to have to run against what the news has been calling 'The Obama Express,' but The Great Plotnik has another take on it: by the time mainstream news media ever picks up on anything, it has usually already peaked. Plotnik's sense is that Obama has thrown everything he has into this race, and is inspiring lots of people, and that will bode well for him, and for our future. But it's very possible that now is not that time.

As an Obama supporter, let's be honest here: Hillary is impressive. She's smart, encyclopedic in knowledge and unafraid to fight. Can she win? Yes, she can, as long as she remembers to run against Bush and Cheney and McWhomever and not get sucked into vindictiveness and negativity. Let them do that.

Not that Obama can't still rally -- it's just that when you realize how badly radio, tv and the news want Obama to surge -- it becomes a story, see -- and they've pretty much gone for him 100%, and it still hasn't been enough -- well, check out your front page. The Express lost almost all the big states.

What now? More battling for more delegates. Hillary is basically the incumbent, though, and political history says don't bet against the incumbent in a close race. Barack will have to pull some magic out of his hat now.

First, no, let's not give it up for the new look Lakers. I liked the old look Lakers plenty fine. (Actually they were a bit too good as well.)

Second, I don't know if it is a good or bad thing that the Democratic selection process is probably going to last for awhile (while McCain gets to build his war chest and sharpen his tongue), but I will say it was GREAT to have California matter for the first time in years!
