The Old Saloon

On the corner of Church and 25th Streets, they were renovating one of those corner buildings that in Saint Plotniko almost always used to be a store or a saloon. Sure enough, when they removed the siding, they found this perfectly preserved old advertisement:

It is a testament to the quality workmanship of the carpenters anywhere from seventy-five to a hundred-and-some years ago. All that time passed and it doesn't look like one drop of water got in to smudge that old paint or decay the wood siding.

So now, apparently, the builder is going to keep the sign instead of putting in a picture window, and design his renovation around it. That's the way it ought to be and it makes Plotnik smile.
