It is easy to say that I wouldn't want to live the way mom does. But I'm sure that's a lie. We are not in possession of grand alternatives. One thing is for sure, this is no video game. Or if it is, I doubt it's a best seller.

Kind of like parenting, Even if Dr. Spock wrote a book about what to expect, he did not live in my house and any advice books about dealing with aging parents, they too are not in your shoes.
By the way, I spoke to her last week and she is as cordial as ever and while I sense some failings, she seemed well and had no complaints for me. but then I am not her child, and I only call every month or two. She always thanks me emphatically for the call and keeping in touch. What a gal Rosie is!
