A Nice Way to Bring In the Crowds
Frau Bachfeifengesicht's Spectacle of Perfection is a lot of fun, especially if you don't mind getting slapped in the face until you win the free beer.
Plotnik will not post his review of the four-woman circus spoofing troupe until he receives an answer to a personnel question from the press agent, but he will say that the show is at 533 Sutter, in the Jean Shelton Theater. This means that 533 Sutter has three theaters operating, each one appealing to different audiences and the audiences are responding: lots of traffic in and out.
Upstairs is the fabulous San Francisco Playhouse, where you see some of the best and most innovative theater in the city; on the main floor is the long-running 'Shopping - The Musical' which Plotnik hasn't seen but must be pretty darned good because it's been there a long time and doesn't seem to be going anywhere else; and now, downstairs in the cabaret room, Circus Finelli's Frau Bachfeifengesicht.
Upstairs: the best plots. Main floor: The best music. Downstairs: the best four-woman circus spoofing troupe, complete with accordion, trombone and eye patch. Take note, theater owners across America who are bemoaning your lack of audiences: give 'em all something they like and don't charge 'em through the roof. What, you didn't know that already?

So how many people spun the wheel of death? How hard were they slapped? What kid of beer would you get? This show sounds really fun. (I see that your question must have been answered since your review showed up.)
I'm glad to read about these other theaters and I agree about the pricing and providing what people want.
